Thanks for Asking!

My name is Rey Ulan and I graduated from the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at UNLV.  In undergrad I earned a Neuroscience degree with a focus in psychology from UNR.  As part of my curriculum, I researched emotional decision making and wrote a thesis on vicarious shame.  My training during graduate school was built on the foundations of person-centered counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.  I've picked up knowledge from other modalities and am constantly working to hone my skills through continued practice, consultation, and reading.

Personally, I believe that any work we do in therapy is a collaborative effort.  I will do my best as a Clinical Professional Counselor Intern at Pathways Therapy and Wellness Center to help you identify and utilize your strengths.  Community resources and interpersonal relationships also play large roles in my approach to therapy.  My hope is that as we get to know each other, we will be able to build upon your strengths and maintain a strong support network for you to lean on as you continue your journey.
